Day 24: Paris

Yet another fantastic day in paris. We started this morning by taking the tube to the Luxembourg palace and gardens. This area is so beautiful, it was pretty cold and overcast when we were there, but I bet it is amazing in the middle of summer when everyone is out enjoying the sun. From there we walked through a cool modern art fair that was going on and St. Sulpice church. This one was much darker than any other one we have been too, and even thought it wasn't as old as some, wasn't quite as well maintained and smelled and felt so much older. From there we made our way over to the Pantheon, which was in a really pretty part of town. It's a cool old building, where quite a few famous French people are burried like Rousseau and Alexandre Dumas. After we finished up there w walked through that part of town and found some lunch ( I had a baguette-yes an entire baguette, and a chocolate croissant) SO good.

Two of the girls were tired of all the walking so they headed home while me and the fourth girl decided to do some exploring, we walked through the Spanish quarter over to the river, up the river past vendors, another lock bridge, Notre Dame and end Louvre. We ended up walking quite a ways over to a fabric store that I had the address for. It was really awesome walking through an are of town with so many fabric stores. Most of them just sold in bulk, so we didn't go in, but I did end up getting one cut of fabric at a fabric store in Paris! Which is a little bit of a dream come true.

After all the walking we were pretty exhausted so we headed home too, and just in time since it stared pouring when we got back to the hotel ( it had been raining on and off all day) so we hung out and rested for a while until there was a break in the rain and we had a chance to run across the street for paninis and crepes for dinner.

After dinner we decided to see some of the sites at night. After hanging out a bit more, we went to the Eiffel tower just as it was getting dark. It was lit up with colored lights which surprised us all, and at 10:00, the white lights all over the tower started flashing, which was awesome. A few of us wandered around ( in the pouring rain) looking for the ice cream stand that we went to the other day, but heartbreakingly, it wasn't there. So we sloshed our way back to the metro station, and stopped at the Arc De Triumph on our way home.
